Mrs Claus is a great pattern for embellishing! She looks fabulous in any Christmas fabric (not just red & green). This pattern requires some basic hand sewing. Add a message or date in embroidery or fabric marker on the apron to create a family heirloom that will be cherished for years. Pair her with the “All I Want For Christmas Santa” pattern for a cute Christmas couple!

Pauline designed this camel toy pattern for a craft magazine’s Christmas in July issue back in 2009. Chrissy’s has button-jointed legs which makes her a more advanced pattern. I don’t recommend her for beginners but the added bonus is that you can add some bright funky coloured Christmas buttons for decoration

This smiley-faced salamander has become incredibly popular with kids, but I’d never heard of one until the requests started pouring in for a pattern. (“Aristotle” rhymes with “axolotl” – if you’re having trouble pronouncing it!). Aristotle looks great in all colors, just like a real axolotl, but he’s generously sized to fit under your arm for lots of hugs. He is a quick easy pattern too!

As a tribute, I have named my crocodile after Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter. Steve is a really cuddly crocodile, grinning from ear to ear all day long! I’m sure there are lots of little boys (and girls!) who’d love to snuggle up to him.

Joey is the third Aussie-Mates Funky Friends toy sewing pattern. This baby kangaroo makes a lovely toy for girls or boys. Make him from fleece or Cuddle to make your baby kangaroo extra snugly!

RECOMMENDED FABRICS:

Joey Junior can made from MOST fabrics – The Kangaroo sewing pattern will work well with both NON-STRETCH fabrics (eg. patchwork and quilting cottons and corduroy)and also with STRETCH fabrics (eg. fleece, stretch velour, chenille and flannelette.) Cuddly fabrics like fleece and chenille are nice for baby toys!

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

Main fabric- 110cmx30cm/ 43inchesx12inches.
Contrast fabric – 33cmx23cm / 13inchesx9inches.
12mm / ½” craft eyes or black embroidery thread.
Felt scrap for nose

Harmony the Highland Cow (or ‘coo’) is happiest frolicking in the Scottish heather. This baby bovine’s sturdy body makes her a perfect toy for kids or decor item for trendy homes. You can sew Harmony in most fabrics and a felt FORELOCK PIECE is included so you don’t need fur. The flower pattern pieces for Harmony’s optional “flower crown” allow you to whip up your own cuddly ‘queen of the meadow’!

RECOMMENDED FABRICS:

The Highland cow can be sewn with most fabrics. I have included a felt FORELOCK PIECE to use if you don’t have fake fur!
